No way, it is still my go to rifle, teeny-tiny little groups turn me on, and the 17 Ackley Hornet does that with more consistency than anything I've seen. Just adding a new dimension to my gun safe, that's all.

Nice shooting !
I think your first shot flyer may be a problem just like many other guns. Seems to go away with a dirty barrel?
What I do is at the start of hunting season I fire between 5 and 10 shots. I don't clean the bore again till after hunting season unless it gets wet. If you live where its humid though this is a bad idea. Its not so bad here in california its really dry.
