RCBS chargemaster 1500 combo

I have been wanting one of these for sometime now. Just havent broke down and bought one yet. I am going to be getting one though, hopefully soon.

GOT ONE FOR MY 29th BIRTHDAY ON OCT 18! (got a hand priming tool too)

Just finally getting my reloading bench built and set the way I want it.

I'm pumped. This weekend I'm picking up a few more things.

RCBS Trimate Prep station
Brass tumbler
case trimmer
2 case holding blocks

Ive been using one for a few months now. So far so good. All that Ive run through it is Varget though and with this powder I generaly am fine tuning it by ~+/-.1grs though...
Snipers hide has a few good theads on the chargemaster too- including a couple of mods to supposedly help out with Varget. Ill get around to tring them sometime.

Anyone else using it succesfully with Varget?

Mine works with all kinds of powder. I have run at least 5 lbs of Varget through it and have not noticed it was any different than any other.

Awesome addition to the reloading bench.

Now, raise your hand if you've poured powder in while leaving the quick drain dial open....

I did that once and what a mess. I took a small cereal bowl and stuck it under the drain incase it happens again. I also use the bowl to drain powder in when I am switching powders.

I wrote this on the Hide this morning. Some of the problems I believe people are having with these machines are that they get in to big a hurry and don't let the machine work.

The machine stops as soon as it hits your preferred charge and sometimes right at that instant a clump of four or five kernals fall at that time which will cause an over charge. People then grab the pan and weight it on their beam scale and say that the thing is throwing over charges. If one will wait just a few seconds longer the machine will tell you if it's over weight.

As stated it hits the preferred charge and stops. It then goes to round count and then will go back to charge weight. If you wait until after the round count it goes back to the charge weight the machine will tell you if it's over weight.

i finally took a black sharpie marker and marked the top of the drain while it was closed. if i dont see a black mark straight up, i know the drain is open.

I took a plastic lid off a container and I keep it under the drain at all times and as mentioned I use it to dump my powder back to the cannister as well. If you can find one that is fairly flexible it really helps as it acts like a funnel to pour the powder back.

I bought the Hornandy Lock & Load Digital scale with some features like three speeds & over $100 cheaper than RCBS. Both are made in China & Probably by the same Company.
I use a Mcdonalds Plastic Straw in The powder tube Which Helps with the powder speed & accuracy. I bought mine thru Graf&Sons for under $200 Its a great unit, very Happy with it.

I cant believe you guys, accidentally dumping powder on the bench Hahahaa Not me I am perfect just ask my wife
