RCBS Chargemaster

I've just about decided to buy one of these units, so I started comparing prices from the venders I usually order from. One has a Chargemaster, another has a Chargemaster 1500 for $40 more. I don't find anything on the RCBS website indicating more than one model. Does anyone know if there is a difference in the two listings, or is one vender just more price competitive????

a lot of times you will find the big vendors will put together a 'package' and add their own name/number to it. you won't see it on the manufacturers website as it is a dealer exclusive.
I just started using the RCBS Rangemaster 750 scale and really like it.

To the best of my knowledge there is only 1 Chargemaster and it's a 1500. Might be worth making a call to RCBS to make sure though.

there is only one charge master, it is the 1500 scale with the dispenser unit. I couldn't imagine reloading with out my charge master, sure I could go back to the old way, and sometimes do. but the charge master is by far the best investment that I have made for reloading

i don't know what vender's you are looking at but make sure its not just the dispensing unit,i saw a couple of vender's selling just the dispensing unit without the scales and the price was not much less then the ones with the scales included.

Nobody else puts their name on RCBS. My Chargemaster is the ticket for fast and accurate reloading. There is a second version on the market and it is a 1500. I have had both and the 1500 is much faster.

I've had the Chargemaster 1500 combo for several years now and can't be happier with it. It's real accurate especially with ball powder and it's fast. I can't imagine reloading without it.

I've had a 1500 Charge Master for a couple years now. To be honest with ya I don't use it much.

Even with stick powder such as varget, the rcbs uniflow powder measure is faster, even if I have to trickle to get a perfect measurement.

I use the scales alot, but once dialed in, the uniflow is faster than the Charge Master.

Who knows maybe mine doesn't work right? I did have trouble with it and had to send it back when new. But the replacement wasn't any faster than the first one.

Anyone else have the same opinion?

I have always been able to "drop and trickle" faster than my Charge Master. Not to say that the Charge Master does not work; because it does. It is just a bit slow, even if you change your loading methodology to charge and seat rather than charging all cases at once.

buy a PACT they are less money are built in the USA and have a liftime warranty rcbs can't meet that! don't get me wrong for most all of my stuff I use rcbs but in this case

I like mine as it fits my style of making one cartridge at a time. It finishes dispensing when the cartridge is complete. Very accurate and precise. Fifty per hour is all I need.

Not trying to talk you out of one, it is a great product.

I just have a hard time changing the way I do things I guess.

Wife has made the comment that I'm hard headed and impatience more than once.

I am just getting into reloading, asking a lot of questions, and building my bench.

I originally purchased an RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme package with the Chargemaster scale combo from a popular chain. When it arrived I found tht the scale was made in China. Needless to say I have returned it to the store in Southern Michigan. I do not feel comfortable trusting my loads to a scale made in China.

Since I am now angry with RCBS, I have been looking at the Redding Boss Deluxe Kit to start off with. Then again, there are probably better scales and trimmers than what is in the kit.

Hey ElkHuntr--- That was the reason for my original question, MidSouth has a Chargemaster combo for $279, while Midway USA has a Chargemaster 1500 combo for $319. What is the difference, or are they the same????? I don't mind saving $40 bucks, but I want the best one!

My charge master works great and would'nt be with-out it, sure its not as fast as a powder measure but i like to weigh my loads..

I hunt coyotes and fox for the fur. Take a guess on what countries buy furs from the great USA. A large portion of the furs go over seas to countries like Russia, Japan, china, and germany and also Italy.. When their ecconamy is down so is the price of furs and then nothing moves or gets sold, not a good thing..As long as a product works i don't care who makes it or where its made...The countries mentioned also buy other products from the U.S.A., so whats good for the goose is good for the guander...

It is more of a quality control issue for me. Then again, I was one of those people who used to laugh at "made in Japan". And this is not the forum for me to go into trade deficits, jobs, or business taxes. All of which I am much more qualified to talk about than reloading.
