NASA,

Here's a picture of a Higley's that has a little added vaulue to it for me. I was lucky enough to purchase this call from the personal call bag of Gerry Blair(through his middle man Uncle Jay). He was even nice enough to send me a letter with a little info on it about the call.
Its always nice to add to the collection, but it is even better to get a call with a little history behind it.

Todd, what else have you got bragging rights on? That collection of yours must be pretty impressive, to say the least. What about some of those 50-60 yr. old photos? Wasn't it you that was trying to get some?
p.s.~ I still owe you some video footage, I haven't forgot. My "video engr." is kinda slow.

Great info! I've searched all over for this kind of stuff and haven't been able to find anything. I'll bet folks on the board would like to read more of this and especially see what Alaskan Yoter has in his collection. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif hint-hint

Hey NASA, you got something kinda special too, One of Jay and Als books full of autographs lol. I got two of the original ( Off White ) California Varmint Callers jackets with the patches. One jacket has all the patches and pins on it, mine lol. Last time they made this jacket was back in the mid 70s. I am going to try and have a little mini predator hunting museum in the lobby of our motel in NM. Patches, pins pictures, trophies etc etc. I already have some of it, Maybe you guys can help me find some stuff? I am leaving this Sat, so I won't be on line for a couple weeks, Take care.

Danny, I have a feeling that your motel is going to become quite famous as a traditional pit stop for varmint hunters all over the country. I can't wait to visit and check out your "decorating scheme", LOL! Just think, all your taxidermy bills can be written off as "business expenses". Not to mention the cost of necessary "field trips" to acquire new specimens for commercial display. Nice gig, buddy! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Jay i never seen so many diffrent varmint calls in my life, i have a weems wildcall coxer i got in the late 70s thats the only old call i have.
looking at your pictures makes me want some more. VS

Hey fellas, been a while since I been in here. Computer problems ya know!!

Uncle Jay those are some nice pics in your album!!! You been holding oout on me again? Hows about some history lessons behind that Coffin Call? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Fellas my collection is nothing compaired to Jay and Al's, but I will give them credit for getting me started and helping me out when ever I need it. Two great fellas..... Theres a few more great fella collectors out there too.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

They are real slow here in this part of the country lol, took two weeks for me to get back on line. Jay, I'll take you up on that offer, come to think of it I got a few things I'm sure you'd like to have, so maybe a trade? I heard you was in the hospital getting fixed up, hope you're feeling better. NASA, I never thought of it like that, but it's not a bad idea....thanks lol /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I’m really not up on this “collecting” stuff, but I was under the impression that the Burnham Brothers harmonica type call was the first commercially available predator call. Wrong?
