Don't you just love Senator McCain's attitude. One thing no one can argue is, that man has been to hell and back himself.
 
I doubt McCain has changed his ways any. I'll be impressed with his bravery when he leads the troops into battle... from the front, not the rear. Rhetoric doesn't mean much to me when it comes from old men who sit back to send young men to die.

Don't you understand? Why we can't allow beer drinking, t-shirt wearing, wife beating, rednecks to own firearms! They might overthrow us!!! The elite is all the same, not one "democrat with a little d" in the whole lot of them. We exist in this utopia to serve the elite, not the other way around.

That said, the reason we enjoy as many rights as we do is because we are armed, and it would be too costly for the elite to put their agenda over on us right now.

I really don't like McCain, but in his youth, he did his duty, and my understanding is that he did it admirably. He has earned a certain amount of respect for that.
 
I think that anyone that has paid the price that McCain has, has earned the right to say whatever he thinks is right. I certainly do not agree with everything he has said, but he has sure earned the right to express whatever he feels. Just my opinion...

I agree with Jeff about McCain. I don't agree with all he has said, but that man has paid his dues to speak about war. Anyways who cares what he says as long as all our Senators and Congressman etc, are all supporting sometype of military action against those who attacked us. First time in along time that the majority has ever agreed on anything. Let's not attack them.
 
I'm here in defence of John McCain. While I do not like his stand on firearms I find him to be a very compelling individual. If you are a thinking person you can not deny that he has paid a terrible price for the things that he feels are right. He knows that a stance on firearms restrictions is not popular and his campaign for campaign finance reform is not popular with his fellow congressmen but he truely believes in his beliefs and he will not let go of his principles. It takes guts to stand in the whirle wind when everyone else is blowing in the breeze, there is no dought from where he is comming from and there is little dought about where he is going. That also goes with his love for this country and his willingness to defend this country. As far as him leading from the front is concerned, I'd bet all that I have that John would strap himself into an attack jet and make the first strike if he could without a second thought. Make no mistake John McCain is a fighter and he'd fight from the front if he could.

Glad to see that someone believes in John McCain. I personnally don't agree with him on most things, but that is the way it is. However in this instance and on this issue we do have common ground.

I would like to say that we need to look out for each other as americans, and right now the Arab community needs our support. Now let me finish, I mean the US citizens that happen to be of arab decent. I don't want them to suffer the same fate as those Japanese did during WW2. All others (not citizens) should be deported immediately for their own good. I know it is only a small percentage of the world population that is involved in terrorism but we need to protect our interests now. Also, this deportation applies to all non-citizens, we need to regroup as one. I do not accuse anyone, but it is hard to trust someone who does not have a vested interest in this country right now. I hope that I have been clear, on how I feel. I do not mean any harm to any one except the terrorist ranks of the world, and to them, extinction.
 
Want to clarify something. In the previous post where I chimed in agreement, it was related to the last sentence.

As far as McCain goes, I have nothing but respect for him and all other veterans of any conflict, regardless of the their political views. All vets deserve unquestioned, unwavering, respect from us all. I have enjoyed hearing Mr. McCains comments on this tragedy and find his words quite comforting compared to the others. Frankly, I kind of wish he were the one handling this crisis but Bush is doing OK I suppose.

Anyway, just wanted to clear that up due to all the feathers getting puffy. LOL

I HAD respect for John McCain because of the price he paid in defense of this country. However, he lost my respect when he came out with his support of gun control and campaign finance reform. I cannot believe how anybody that loves freedom and this country and has gone through what he has can support those two issues.

Respect has to be earned and maintained!
 
Regarding McCain - he has certainly paid his dues with several years of POW captivity. He has all the bona fides that a soldier can have, and then some. When the Vietnamese found out that his dad was the commander of the Pacific fleet, they offered to let him go home. He responded with a stream of profanity, telling them he wouldn't go home until all his buddies went with him. They sent him back to the Hanoi Hilton where they broke both his arms and tortured him for several more years.

However, his stands on gun-control and campaign finance "reform" are very popular with his primary constituency, which is the elite media in New York and D.C. He is obviously not planning to run for office again in Arizona, so he has no need to pretend to support gun rights, or the 1st amendment any more. He can sit back in Washington and receive all the accolades that come to a Republican who bashes his own party on a regular basis.

I'm done venting now.
