Maybe this has already been asked, if not here ya go.

N.Y.S. D.E.C. game commission officer Robert Doe confirmed that this was
indeed a new New York state record coyote. Its official weight was 115
pounds, it is a very large male and was shot this (2005) regular deer
season just out side the town of Hilton. It has been spotted on several
different occasions chasing deer & livestock, dogs, and cats

Anybody know if this is true?

HOLY CRAP! Could it be a wolf? That is just enormous for a yote! If it is a real photo I am putting the 22-250 away and toting a 375H&H!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

ok, i admit it, it was me i killed it after it tryed draging my buck off. then bigfoot came along and tryed taking both but he took a bullet as well, but he made it back in the brsh and with what i had all ready got and the size of the yote and getting a decent buck i thought it would be better to not mess with fire and call it a good day and since bigfoot didn't look to be to hurt i might have been next so i left him for the other yote's in the area to eat so they would get just as big as the one i had just shot. lol.
sorry i was dreaming there for a few.:)

realy though, it does look more like a wolf than a yote. may be a coywolf cross, either way coywolf or pure yote that thing is a giant.
hear i would just be happy with any yote this year and then this thing show's up, all i can say is damn.
bow

I have seen this photo around before, and I believe it even showed up here on PM. If I remember right, I is a fake...JOHN

This picture has been here on the forum a time or two. It is a complete hoax. Someone here on the board(they were from N.Y.) did some lookin and there was no Robert Doe for one, and there were no reports of the thing chasing stuff either. And the picture just looks fake for another.

I always like to use this site snoops it has always had an answer to any pictures I come across online I amnot sure are real. Here is ther explanation of the picture.
Robert

Origins: Like many Internet-circulated photos of unusually large animals, this item is a real picture accompanied by somewhat garbled details.

According to officials with New York's Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), the canine pictured above is not a coyote but a male wolf-dog hybrid, it was shot and killed in Pennsylvania (not New York), and it weighed somewhere between 102 and 105 pounds.

The animal's neutered state indicates that it was probably being kept as a pet but escaped or was released by its owner. Wolf-dog hybrids are illegal to possess as pets in New York state.

The picture is real, the wolf/dog was big. I was sent the picture two or three years ago in an email with the claim it was a female coyote 115# taken in PA. The NY story came later and was the one that made it into Snopes.com

It's fake you tell by the way the fur looks on the coyote see how detailed it is? Now look at the deer you cant even see the furlines. Its a very well made fake though. The photoshop snow really gives it away though.

Question:

Do folks actually read the thread before they post or not?

Snopes.com researched it, as stated above, and here's the link to their research.

They found that it was "Real photograph; inaccurate description."

'Twas not fake, though it was a wolf-dog neutered male in PA, not a 'yote in NY.

Here's the link: http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/coyote.asp

If that picture isnt fake... then that is the smallest buck i've ever seen.

In order for that dog to weigh 100lbs and be THAT BIG... it would have to be made out of carbon fiber. lol

Why does this pic keep popping up? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Been around for quite some time, obvious fake! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
