Alot of my hunting is done in the timber. 75 yards is a long shot and the coyotes are usually there and gone really fast. I am thinking about going to a red dot type sight just don't know which ones I should look at? Aimpoint, eotech, tru glo, leupold? I don't want to get a chep pos one I want one I can use and not have to baby a whole lot and worry about. So which ones have you guys or do you guys use? Thanks for any info.

Any budget?

For the price I quite like my Vortex Strikefire, it has a 4MOA dot so it might cover up too much of your target but Vortex makes the Sparc and it has a 1 or 2 MOA dot and wouldnt cover as much. The strikefire still doesnt seem to be as nice as the Eotech I looked at but it also doesnt cost as much.

AimPoint PRO.

I have one on my 9422M and I'll get another for an AR soon.
2 MOA dot.
3 years of continuous use from a single battery.
They are really nice.

They come with a good mount, battery, and flip up lense covers.

Not bad for under $400....

Since you have that much for your budget I would look at the Trijicon for sure and the Aimpoint is really a good one also. You will save some money on a CMore STS red dot and it is just as nice as the two pricey ones.

I have an Aimpoint on my 12 Ga with a red dot and my wife has a green and red dot on hers. I like the green dot for night time and the red for daytime.

Ifound a good deal on the vortex sparc and ordered one. I will play with it and see what I want out of this type of optic and look at a better one latter

I've got a Bushnell Holosight. Basically an older model Eotech without the shroud. Not sure they still make them but you can still find new ones for decent price.
