Guys,
I have two very old RCBS reloading press,
When I`m reloading my big magnum`s, it`s a bit tight to work on.
I have to slide the cartridge and bullet inside the die.
Yesterday I went to the range, on my way I stopped at the store:
I saw this nice and shiny new thing: Redding Big Boss II for $330 Can.
Sale rep told me the Big Boss have a bigger opening for the Magnums.
He got me thinking, OK: Deal !
I bought it and installed it.
But this morning I`m looking my new press, Yes its nice BUT:
is it me or the opening is not bigger than my RCBS ?
I looked on there website they are satying : quote "This top of the line single station press has the largest window opening and longest usable ram stroke of any press in its class."

I used my caliper to measure de difference between my Oldy and the Newy.
it`s less than 1/4 inch difference.
its 0.200"

Is it me?
I now have this strange feeling inside.

that is not very much bigger for sure. now you must ask you self if $330 is worth the .200. can you return it?

I have three Rcbs Rock Chuckers, and I like the Redding boss better. One of the best features is that the Boss catches EVERY primer, and the rock chucker puts a bunch of them all over the floor.

My wife has had primers go BANG when she vacuums.

Oh, that explains it... 330 Canada.. Didn't recognize the can as short for Canada..

I'm sure glad you, too, have had that problem, Keith. You wouldn't believe how many folks deny the possibility of setting off a primer in a vacuum. At leastyou and I know it's possible!

Boy, you got that right, gunny. Its been 30 years since one went off when my wife was vacuuming loading room for the last time. I've done it ever since.

Regards,

I think the type of vacuum is the issue. A Kirby will set them off but the canister wet vac type won't. Nothing to hit the primers if the head doesn't have rotating bars.
