Would depend on the chambering. If they have the tools for it already, or if they have to R&D it. Around $100.00 for just the sizing die should be expected. They can go up from there. Seating dies are easy enough, depending on your flavor of choice.

You will need three fired cases, or a reamer print.

Reason for asking is if I can't re-chamber the 22X45S, I may try to buy dies. Rumor has it that a re-barrel job might be a better choice than custom dies.

Check into Hornady custom, Ben Syrin (SP??). I have several sets of them as do my friends. By far the best option, after having Redding custom literally mess three set ups in a row and refuse to fix them, I vowed to never use them again. I won't either. ADam

What Adam said...

Redding is not set up to do custom work- Hornady has TONS of services that are not cataloged or on the website - just call them and ask the "skilled telephone routing specialist" what you need and she will get you to the right person.

Just hearing their phone answering machine is worth the phone call

They do, it's called the MATCH grade die. Although they aren't in all calibers. All of the custom dies are bushing dies as well. Adam

+2 on that...

All this is fine, but, if they don't have the tooling for the dies the OP wants [222 mag 45*], they may or may not be able to make them for him. He will still have to have fired cases or a reamer print etc...

I found the basic die for this round here: http://www.ch4d.com/catalog/dies/caliber-list?page=9

The tight neck issue can be resolved by calling CH4, and discussing what he needs. I posted this link, and another on his other posting about the rifle, but no interest.? Is there something wrong with CH4 dies?

They can still make it for him from the reamer drawing, they don't use chamber reamers they hone the die, and the fired cases are for testing the die afterwards to ensure the tolerances but aren't needed. Call Ben and explain the situation, he'll tell you the gouge. Adam
