Redding powder triclker?

I did before the Lyman electronic charger...it is a good piece of equipment. But it is a little short (height) to easily dispense into the pan of a balance beam scale. I found a PVC adapter that fit it perfectly and made it the correct height.
 
Ive used mine for about 20 years or so with out a problem... there all a little short IMO, i stuck mine on a 2" Peace of Phenolic which gives it a little weight on the bottom and makes it more stable.
 
Because it is too short to use "comfortably" with most powder scales I sat mine up on a spacer. The only problem with that was if I still managed to bump it when weighing a charge a few kernels would always get knocked out just when I got it right and was moving the pan to charge the case. I would have to keep going back and plucking out some powder to get it dead on. Now I have a little cut piece of granite countertop epoxied to the base of the trickler for stability. That slight bump wont cause half the tube of powder to fall into the pan anymore. I also put it up higher than just reaching over the powder pan so I now have to work at hitting it.
I have the RCBS electronic gizmos but they are slow. I got them as a gift one year at x-mas but really don't use that setup much.

I do. As stated, it needs help positioning over a scale. I built a little shelf, that positions it over the powder bowl on my DI MXX-123 scale. Works great for small extruded grain, and spherical, powders. Nothing works well for large extruded powders, but this probably works as well as any other trickler.

Never tried the Redding, but sure it would work fine. My Scottish lineage comes out when I can save a buck and besides, I like to tinker, so many years ago, I threw this together in about 20 minutes:





I poured lead for weight, using 3/4" thin walled conduit and bored hole in bolt. Could easily be built from PVC pipe and use steel or copper tubing for the dribbler tube.

Its a great little trickler. As many have said, a couple quick modifications and your all set. I built a jig to hold trickier higher so it can be slid over top of my scale. I also use a Mcdonald's straw (cut to about 4") to extend into center of scale and line up when powder pan is put on scale. I use it a lot when loading for my 17's. Get me right on my intended number.
