Redfield Revolution

Building my first AR and am looking at optics. Anybody have any thoughts about the Redfield Revolution line of scopes? Looking at the 3x9x40.

My buddy bought one for his Stag. It is pretty nice. They are made by Leupold and supposedly go through the same quality testing as the actual Leupold scopes.

His AR is a safe queen though, he hasn't even shot it yet.

I have a 3-9x50 with accurange and Burris PEPR mount, plus butler creek flip open (but clear)covers. I like the set-up and the price won`t break the bank.

I put one on my 25-06 when it needed glass. Put another one on the next rifle when it needed glass, I'll put 5 more on the next 5 rifles... up until I need something that they don't make.

Comparing them to my loopy, they're on par with my vxI. The optics are coated, not fully multi-coated like the actual loopy's are, the box isn't as nice, the retical and power choice is more limited, but the use the same glass and carry the same forever +1 day warranty. I don't think you can touch them for quality for another $200 for a hunting rifle.

I find the statement( They both sucked) interesting. As I have used the 4-12 with Accu-range to kill a good number of coyotes. I think the only ones that would say it sucks is the coyotes if they could still comment. What makes them suck as you put it?

I have one in the 4-12 with the accu-range on my savage 243. A couple of things I don't like.. The eye relieve is touchy for me especially on the lower power settings. Seems like I need to move it further forward, but with standard mounts I can't. The other thing I don't care for is the finger adjustments are mushy. Scope seems to track fine, but you certainly do not get a good solid click rather a soft detent.

What I do like is the clarity of glass for the price. I like the accu-range and once you figure out what power setting corrilates the bottom of the circle and the dot for your rifle and your ranges, you good to go. Lastly it seems to be a very strong scope in terms of holding point of impact. I use mine every weekend, riding around on the quad in the gun rack. I've had cheaper scopes and most simply will not maintain their zero when subjected to the vibration and jarring that comes with riding on a quad, at least in the county I ride in.

I also tested the zero holding by accident. First weekend hunting with this scope. It's brand new, had just sighted it in and the next day out hunting with it. I had shot a coyote and was walkign up the hill to where I shot it. Comeing back down the hill, I rolled my ankle on a rock. I fell, dropped the rifle hard in hard and rocky ground. Rifle landed hard on the elevation turret, denting the turret cap. I was sure, due to the hard impact the scope took that there was no way it would still be zero'd. I rode back down to the ranch shop, got some cardbord, then set it up for a quick check shot. Scope was still perfeclty zero'd. I moved it up a couple of moa to see if it tracked. Check. Moved it back to zero, check.

So to sum up. I like it. I'll by more when the need arives.

i have the 4-12 on a 22 250 and its good enough to make one hole groups at 100. i like it clear lots of eye relief. good scope

I did forget about the eye relief.Had to switch to a PEPR mount to get the scope far enough forward, but no other issues.Cant go wrong for the $,unless your a SQUID I guess!LOL
