Reloading Manual

Well if I read your question correctly, you are talking about two different animals. The Hornady books is 900+ pages long and gives specific loads on a wide ranges loads, whereas the ABC of Reloading (8th Edition) is a general guide on reloading that's is 288 pages long. Both are very useful and worthwhile books to own. Hope that answers your question if it was a question.

Get in the habit of buying at least one new reloading book a year, or at least maybe one every other year.

Vary them between those done by Powder companies, Bullet manufacturers, and other suppliers like Lyman. Hodgdon's has gone away from Hard-bound books to a magazine style. It's very good info at a cheap price, though I have to admit I've always enjoyed reading the sections about the different cartridges and how they were developed.

Also there's lots of on-line sites both by powder and bullet manufactures and privte parties.

Oh yes, you can ask for favorite loads from fellow PM members but be careful, not everyone can test the loads as accurately as the big companies, and sometimes typos happen.

Was going to ask the same question myself since I have not purchased a manual in awhile, seems like maybe I should buy 2 or 3.

I have Sierra's 5th edition.

Here's the link to Nosler's data though I'm sure there is a lot more in the book but at least it's a starting point:
http://www.nosler.com/index.php?p=15

And Hornady is the other manual I have. Additionally, you can download IMR's data, RamShot's data from their site.

Good luck!

My experiance has been that you can not have to many manuals. I use alot of Hornday bullets, so naturally I find their book pretty good. One thing I wish they all did was somewheres write out the abbreviation for the powders they recommend.

Hogdons, and Accurate's web sites have reloading data
sections for their powders. Which I would expect are up to date.

I think for new guys Lyman is the best and as you progress I think Speer does the best job. I have others but the technical data in the newest Speer is excelent.Third down for me is Nosler and although I have it I am not crazy about the Hornaday manaul (but I love their bullets!).

I had all of the ones they had back in the 60's but lost all of them in a house fire.
I know there is a few new powders and bullets since then but they were not afraid to print the real max loads back then
unlike the ones you get now that have been cut back because of lawyers.
sure wish I could find some more of them some day.
