Reloading Purchase thoughts

I have a hornady single stage and rock chucker. Both are great. The hornady with the die bushings are great. I have all brands of dies as well and Redding and hornady are my favorites.

I think for shooting short range low quantity, you should forget about case trimming and all that goes with that. Buy some lee dies, a lee press and forget the flash hole deburring stuff, trimming stuff, case length gauges etc...

All you need to load 5 boxes of shells is dies, press, and components. Not trying to be a smart azz, but seriously, you don't need much to load a handful of shells. And, buy used.

for 100 rounds a year, that ^^^^ right there is the best advice of the whole thread.

second best advice is go buy 5 boxes of factory ammo and be done with it.

Assuming you want to mess with it, for 100 rounds a year, a cheap lee kit and some dies and calipers will give you everything you need. You may or may not need to trim your brass. It'd take a long time to recover your cost and considering the time involved, you may be better off just buying a few cases of ammo when it's on sale and being done.

If you confused about things, get a book before you buy anything. It will give you a better understanding and allow you to ask specific questions. ABC's of Reloading, Lyman Reloading Handbook or a reloading manual from Hornady, sierra, speer, or any other manufacture. I'm sure you can find a used one cheap on ebay or amazon. All the reloading kits I know of come with a manual.
