Reloading RRA 223 ???

Long time reloader and shooter....serious enough to be anal about my guns and reloaded ammo....but by no means a "pro".
I am somewhat new to AR loading and just ordered a RRA Varmint 223 and have been doing some research on loading for this thing. I ordered a JP case guage cut for the Wylde chamber and a 3 die set of Dillon carbide dies. I'm setting this rifle up primarily for coyote and some recreational bench shooting out to 5-600 yds. Rifle has a 20" 8 twist heavy bbl with Leupold 4.5x14x50 and a 8.5x24x50 for glass. I'm thinking in terms of 60 to 75 grain bullets for most shooting. Have read a lot about loading for gas guns so now I'm down to choosing powder and brass. Natchez Shooter Supply has LC new brass on sale for less than $120/1000. With the appropriate brass prep is this stuff any good in these ARs or should I stick with Rem, Win, Lapua, etc. What works well in these guns as far as powder....anything in particular do to it being a gas gun? I will be loading on a single stage turret press....am not concerned about mass production....but I am concerned about reliable cycling thru the gun and good accuracy. I welcome any comments

Thanx, Jerry

I run my loads at mag length. The LC brass is excellent stuff, i like remington too. Id try some benchmark powder and maybe some tac. On the scope 8.5 power is a high setting for calling. Id go with the 4.5-14. I like a low power it aids in target aquisition on the fast movers.

I agree on the scope choice for calling....the big glass would be for bench/long range stuff. Glad to hear somebody say good things about the LC brass....hard to beat that price

The LC brass is good brass. I ran the LC brass and a 60 gr Vmax loaded with H4895 through my RRA Predator Pursuit with a 1 in 8 twist. I could consistently get 3/4" 5 shot groups. I think I could have got better but stopped with that load. I sold the upper and wish I would not have.

My RRA predator pursuit likes 60 grain vmaxs with varget. I use winchester and lc brass. Benchmark did pretty good in it too but the varget just was a tad better.

I just ordered some LC brass....trying to get in an order before it's sold out and got a box of 60 VMAX to try out. I feel just like a kid again!!!!

I've read good things about Varget but have not seen much about the Benchmark powder. Is the Varget cleaner, more consistant metering, better accuracy? Just curious.

My Predator Pursuit loves the 8208 XBR, LC Brass with 68 and am now finding 75 BTHP's.

With the twist rate being 1:8 going to a heavier projectile sure helped with accuracy.

My RRA 18" Varmint also loves Benchmark and Varget, both w/55gr V-max, CCI primers, and LC brass. Actually it likes, 45, 50, and 60gr along with everything else I've tried. Great rifles, enjoy.

I recently got a RRA Varmint A4 20". I haven't loaded a lot for it yet but it shoots everything good so far. My best groups have been with 60gr V-Max with 8208 XBR and Federal match AR primers. Shot 3 five shot groups today that were from 1/4" to 1/2". Varget shot good but the 8208 XBR did better for me.

O K you guys have got me all pumped up now....if it were'nt so [beeep] crappy and dark outside I'd turn on the Alpha dogg in the front yard just to hear some puppies howl! Thanx for the feedback....I feel like I'm on the right track.
Thanx, Jerry

I run a sierra 52grain hp match with winchester brass and 25.4 grains of benchmark with federal gold medal match primers. She shoots .5 inch pretty consistent at 100yds.
