For those of you interested, this is the new Rem 6.8 SPC round the military is talking about adopting for better performance over the .223. It is adapted from the old .30 Rem case, with a 115gr .277 cal. bullet and a case head of .418 as measured from these rounds. Over all length of the rounds in this box measured from 2.232 to 2.243. They are suppose to fit current AR mags. Velocity is suppose to be about 2650 fps from a 20" barrel and about 2800 from a 24. At 2800, it may make good predator cartridge. We shall see.

Steve, have you had an opportunity to do any testing with this? Model 1 Sales is going to have uppers available this week and I know the ammo is supposed to be on the shelves next week. however, I'm hearing about mag problems with any mags other than the $80 each PRIs.

I'm sure there will be others come to market if the round is adopted and a commercial success but I'm still curious.

Thanks.

Rick

Not yet HD. Just got some ammo, waiting for rifles. Will have a 20" bolt-gun and AR in a month or so. Don't know about the others but I plan on having models that work instead of just being first out. Mag problems have been kicked around but the prototype testing that has been done did not use the PRI mags. We shall see.

The round will be adopted as that is why it was made and it will be promoted on the commerical side as well. I am interested in just what it can do or not do in fact. Not just the hype. LOL!! Full-Auto ought to be something interesting!
