Remage Build

I have a Remington 700 adl 243 that I'm thinking about putting a remage barrel on. The new barrel would be a 6 creedmoor and the gun will be used for casual target shooting and occasional prairie dogs. What barrel brand would you recommend for under $500?

They are really the same performance, a faster twist 243 barrel will allow the use of the typically heavier creed bullets. Not sure what there is to gain changing cartridge family.

K9, you will get 3x the barrel life out of a 6 BR over a 6 Creed! NOT to mention, the amazing accuracy with a flock of powders and bullets with the 6 BR.

The 6 Creed is on par with a 6/250 AI, and they are not easy on barrels, I shot out two of them with AA2700 being your friend when it comes to the heat index on how hot they burn.

I bought a Rem. ADL in 243. Swapped the barrel out for a Remage Criterion 243 with a 9 twist in a heavy varmint. Basically tit for tat, but got rid of the factory pencil barrel. Swapped out the factory stock for a Mag-Pul and detachable mag. Alot nicer rifle to look at and shoots great as well.

The reason I was thinking 6 creed is because I load for one already that I will sell when this gun is done. With the loading supply shortage I wanted to do something I have dies brass bullets and powder for. I'll look around to see if I can find 6br brass and dies.

A buddy and I have installed 5 Criterion barrels between us. They flat out hammer and are easy on the wallet compared to a traditional shouldered barrel threaded/chambered by a 'smith.

On the caliber front, I don't think you can go wrong with a 6 CM. Yes, you can go 6 BR. However, you may run into feeding issues with 6BR being so short. Another option is the 6GT that GA Precision introduced. I ended up installing a .260 Rem barrel and wished I gone 6.5 CM due to the sole reason of factory ammo availability. 6CM will provided off the shelf availability.
