Remington 513T

I got to play with one for a while yesterday. A friend at the range has several along with a 40X and a few Mossbergs. Alot of the old military target trainers. He and a bunch shoot 100yd. matchs at other club ranges. Really fun to hear the report and what seems to be seconds later, hear your bullet strike the backboard. Open sights make for a real challenge, when you wear bifocals. Still, alot of fun. Try it if you get the chance. Now I guess I'll start looking for me one. OH BOY!!

The 513T is a great little entry level target rifle.

Smallbore shooting will really let you hone your shooting skills since there is no recoil to mask your mistakes.
Have fun!

Everyone should have a handful of 22s
Some of the old guns still shoot with the best of the new, in fact often beat them. An accurate 22 bolt action rifle with a great trigger is a joy.

Wow , the Rem 513-T. Just reading that name brings back fond memories. That was the first indoor rifle I competed with when I was a kid. My uncle ( passed in '96 ) had a sweet 1. I wish I knew what happened to that old gun. He scoped it after we grew up and could shoot glass sights as adults. He was deadly on ruff/spruse grouse with it. Thanks for reminding me of a great gun Psyco!

One of those is on my get-it-list. Hard to find and as with everything else, the price keeps going up. Wish I'd glommed onto one 15 years ago. Excellent position trainer and squirrels would hate it.

Alot of my Buds shoot the Remmy's. some shoot the Mossbergs, a few 40X(a little pricy for me) at 100yds. I shot the 513 this week-end with the peep sight and accuracy was really remarkable. I shot a little to the right, but still had 5 for 5 in the 10 rind. Mind you, the 10 ring is about the size as a saucer, but still!!!!

If you can't find a reasonable 513 try a 504. Remington discontinued them a couple years ago but they are still around in decent quantity and for a decent price. They are also very accurate

I have a 510P, two 512 Sportmasters and a 514X all very accurate and reliable. I prefer the 514, I would like to set it up for a sling but do not want the holes in the wood, I wish all rimfire rifles were sling ready from the factory. Less than ten years ago you could pick up a 5 series Remmy for a hundred bucks now it is difficult to get one for less than 250 if it is in decent shape.
