Remington 5r

Is the Remington 5r worth the extra money comparing it to other 700s in the 308. Like if I bought the tactical or sps varmint and but a b&c stock on it? I like the look of the 5r. Also what kind of groups and loads is everybody shooting?

This is what my .300 Win Mag 5-R can do at 100 yards with a 208 A-MAX and 76gr. of H-1000.

It came with the X-mark trigger which I swapped out for a timney. I have to say that I really like this rifle, it seems to out shoot my fathers .300 win mag sendero and my friends .300 win mag 700 police.

Except the brake...........

i agree....to each his own.

When your pushing a 208gr. a-max close to 2900fps it produces ALOT of recoil. This brake actually tames it to that of a .243 win. Might not be the prettiest, but it sure does its job effectively.

Im into it for roughly $3750. (Thats after I sold the H&S stock, bottom metal and x-mark pro the rifle came with.) I guess it weighs around 14 or 15 lbs.
