How does one go about changing it to have a floorplate or detachable box magazine. And what does it cost to do so. I am looking at getting a different stock and would like to do this before I order a stock.

For a floorplate, just get a "BDL" inletted stock. Then buy the bottom metal and the mag box. Your spring/follower assembly will work.
There are several options for the detachable box magazine. Midway has several listed on their site.

Which stock are you looking at?

I converted my wife's ADL .243 to a BDL..... Bought the BDL stock... then got the floorplate, Mag box, spring, and new screws.... the BDL screws were supposed to be the correct ones.... but the front screw was the same for the BDL as for the ADL..... wound up ordering a longer screw and then cutting it off at the right length.... Works great and you would never know it wasn't factory!!

The parts came from Midway.... around $100 total for what all I got.... I went with the Hogue pillar block stock with the rubber over-mold so she could grip it better.

Yes, and no...

A better stock may compensate for the different follower. I put a Hogue on my ADL to turn it to a BDL and shot a hair better because of the better stock. A straight swap of Remington Tupperware will probably give up a little accuracy.

Well If I am gonna lose accuracy should I just keep it stock. This my deer/coyote/everything rifle. I was thinking of a boyds varmint thumbhole. Or one of the Choate Varmint/Sniper Stock there is one for sale locally at a good price. Is there any other stocks around the $100 dollar range? Just trying to get the best bang for my buck don't have much money to spend I like the bottamlands camo stock it has but have heard they shoot better with better stocks. Within 4 shots I was dead on with a cheap remington scope that came on the gun. Should I save the cash and buy a better scope.

I changed mine out with a medalist, made a big difference in my opinion. Most people think B&C is junk compared to HS, but I have no complaints about the 2 I own.

Well am gonna have to sell some stuff or trade it to fund the stock or scope. Anyone interested in buying a SKB Double rifle case or if anyone has ever sold and shipped on of these to know the cost of shipping? Also whats a good price for one of these.

Here are the pics of the case

I know its not exactly what you are wanting, but I have a BDL Rem tupperware take off stock and a BDL floor plate I dont need anymore. No spring and no follower.

Are you capable of shooting MOA groups? If not then I wouldn't worry about the little bit of accuracy change that it will make.

To many people get wrapped up in trying to shoot Bench Rest groups when all they have to do is hit the Target....

Most Tactical shooters worry about Minute of Target. If they can hit it thats all thery worry about.

All I am going to be doing with this rifle is hunting deer coyotes and other varmints. Also to be shooting targets rifle is already fairly accurate and will hit target everytime fired. I would like to change the stock to something nicer just for looks. Don't have to convert to BDL unless its a fairly inexpensive change. Its prolly nothing to worry about and save the money to upgrade to a new stock and scope
