I seen in Cabelas shooing catalog that they sell a conversion kit to convert a BDL into a detachable magazine....Has any of you tried or seen these as I would like to convert a few of my 700's and a model 7.

There are a couple of different magazine conversions that I have played with. Not sure if the Cabelas item is either one.
First (and worst) is an HS Precision detachable magazine system. Costs a bit over $300 if you get a 10 round magazine with the bottom metal. Mine would never feed reliably so I sold it.
Second is the Badger bottom metal that utilizes Accuracy International magazines. Good product but the assembly needs to be installed by somebody who knows what they are doing. Cost is whatever you can sweet talk somebody into because they are back ordered and there is a waiting list.

I have played with this idea in the past, what a great prairie dogginn feature that would be.

Keep us posted with your results all...

Not sure if that would work well or not. One of my rifles has the Remington factory DM and the bottom of the receiver is machined differently than the other receivers.
I tried trading the receivers onto the DM stock and it wouldn't feed rounds properly.

The 700 actions that came from the factory with DBM, were modified to feed from the magazine. This was accomplished by opening the feed rails in the action. Once this is done the rifle will not feed properly with a fixed mag box. Yhe DBM stocks are very different also.

I luv my 700 dm I keep an extra mag with me during hunting season with some varmit rounds in it,makes it real easy to change your loads real quik'
