i have a remington model 700 adl wood stock in 30-06
i was wondering if it was at all possible to interchange the stocks with another barreled action from another remington say in a varmit caliber a shorter action or are the stocks made for long action and short action, and if so does anyone have any barreled actions for sale in the remington's The gun is almost brand new and i want to sell it or get another like it. its for my son the gun fits him but the caliber is too large.

Try the Managed Recoil loads from Remington. They have recoil about like a .243 so he can use it now. When he grows up, he can use regular loads and keep using the gun that he has gotten used to. A lot easier (and cheaper) than selling that one at a loss and buying another one. That's what I did with my son and his .270 ADL a couple of years ago. They grow up quick!

Kelbro is right on the mark. I did the same thing with my son. He got to shoot a big rifle with the reduced recoil loads. Gave him confidence,a deer each year /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
