Would like input from actual owners.
How is the accuracy ? I'm looking for .75 MOA and better.
I load 40gr. and 55gr. V-Max bullets
This load shoots pretty much .5 MOA in every 1:9 twist rifle I have tried it in, however the SPS is a 1:12 so I need some input fom owners that actually record there Targets.
Pics of actual Targets would be great.
Thanks

I've had my Remington 700 sps 223 for over a year now but I still haven't worked up a load for it. I have a bunch of loads I worked up for a different rifle that I'm shooting out of it now with a 55gr Hornady SP that is shooting 1". My planned load is going to be 52gr HP. So other than bringing the thread back to top, I'm no help. Key

Great gun but a lot of the early tactical's were 1-12. And it's a pain to get remington to take care of it.

I have a Rem 700 VLS inbound. I already have some Sierra 45 gr Spitzer handloads. I plan on reloading some Sierra 52 gr HPBT cartridges and then comparing them at 100 yards.

Here are a couple of 200yd groups out of my 700 SPS 1/12 twist barrel using 60gr Hornady V-Max...Both are just a little over one inch.

Me and my buddy both bought SPS Varmints at the same time. I bought a 243 while he got a 223 left hand. Both shoot very well, I put a better stock on mine while he took a small piece of plastic and cut it to fit the front of the action and then screwed it back in ( better free floating the barrel ) and his will now shoot .5 MOA at one and two hundered yards with 52gr. Sierra Match Kings.

For the money, these guns are tough to beat and shoot very well... I just don't care for the stock, which is a very easy fix. I say go for it, stick some good glass on it and go to town...

I have a remington 700 sps .223. Had the gun for 3 years now, I'm shooting remington core-lokt 55g PSP and after doing a bit of bench shooting this summer, i was able to hit a penny about every other shot at 80 yards. Good enough for me!

Is this the Standard barrel SPS or Heavy barrel ?
