I have my grandfather's Remington 722 in .300 Savage, it has no stock and i want to gift it to my little brother for his upcoming Eagle Scout ceremony. I am looking for a wooden stock not a synthetic as it was my grandfather's pride and joy. Any ideas where to find one that doesn't cost more than the gun is worth?

Boyds only has synthetics and none of them say if the 300 will fit. would all calibers fit in the same stock by model number? i will look into stockys next. thank you.

I have an orioginal here with an uncut butt and original plate and trigger guard. PM me if your intrested.

A 700 SA ADL/BDL will fit. With the ADL you need to inlet for the safety and bolt handle. You will have to shorten the mag box a little also.

With the BDL you need to inlet for the safety and bolt handle. You can use the original trigger guard but you have to build up the recess in front of the mag box and behind the trigger.

Originaly 722 300 Sav now 22-250 in an ADL stock

If you want I'll dig a 721(long actio) out of the safe in a BDL stock and take a pic of the floot plat.

All 722's will fit in the same stock. Call Boyds and see how long to get one in walnut. Last one I ordered this way showed up in three weeks.

Here's my Remington 722 rifle in 222 Rem caliber. I bought it out of the back of a gunshop when it had a broken stock. But the rest of the rifle was great...100% blue and no other problems. So I turned it into a project rifle and restocked it, finished the stock with 8 coats of hand rubbed oil, glass bedded it, removed the fixed sights and carefully filled the holes with proper screws, removed the old trigger and installed a Rem X Mark Pro trigger which breaks like glass at 2 lbs with no creep and installed a Redfield 3x9 scope on it.

Thanks for all the info guys, I ended up getting a walnut stock from boyds. I am going to do some engraving and staining before I give it to him for the ceremony.

Awesome model gun. I had 1 in 270 but the stock cracked also. Very smooth shooting. I could actually see the hits on deer when i was down on bipod. Not bad for 270
