Remington 750 Carbine?

I'm looking at a 750 Woods Master in 308. It's a carbine with synthetic stock. It's used but in great shape. Looks new. The guns feels great and is light enough to carry all month. Anyone have one? I'm looking for any and all info I can get on them. I'd like an R-25, but I could buy 3 of these for the price of one R-25.

Pass on the Remington and get a Browning BAR. The M750 is a new wrapper around all the 7400/742 problems. And there are plenty of problems there!
 
ShawnF, I have to agree with GC (as usual) regarding the Remy problems. We described some of those in a recent thread: http://www.predatormastersforums.com/for...097#Post1469097

Years ago when I was looking for a light recoiling semi for my boys, I picked up a used 7400 thinking that I was saving money. I would have been better off by just "biting the bullet" and buying an AR platform. There is really no comparison. The R-25 you have been asking about will be more reliable, flexible and accurate.
 
I have a 750 Carbine that I bought on an impulse that i will sell you! Guaranteed not to feed a second round in the chamber unless you are a lucky son of a gun, and somehow manage to get the crap mag lined up PERFECT.....

I will say that it shoots very well. I actually shot some of my handloads that I worked up for my Remington 700LTR 308 into .5 to .75" groups (3 shot).

I'm going to try to trade mine off and take a big hit on it I'm sure. I've been to two gunshops so far that I do ALOT of business with and they wouldn't take it.....I told them they might not see me for a while.

My father in-law has one in .35 whelen and it functions flawlessly, and is pretty accurate too. I guess it's hit or miss with these rifles.......

1966 I was stationed in Taipei, I worked with the Chinese army and would shoot with them. I could get plenty of 308 ammo from friends in other service but no rifle that I could keep dedicated to target shooting. I put together a Rem 742 BDL Deluxe in 308 with a reciever sight and shot it for a year and a half and put many ammo cans full of shells through it. Brought it back to the states and my dad used it for hunting for 20 yrs till I bought him a lighter rifle, then sold it to my neighbor for his sons first deer rifle. I don't rememberring it ever missing a beat.

Personally I prefer the 760.

Looks like we don't have any fans of the 750. I'm glad I asked about it before I bought it. I do things on impulse a lot. Not always wise.

I appreciate all the input, guys. I have a new questions on a new caliber in the AR forum. LOL I never stop.
 
I have the 7400 high grade in .243 and it has never as much as hiccupped. Very accurate also.It is the third 7400 that i've owned over the years and never a problem out of any.
