I bought some Remington brass from Midway for my 204 and I notice a lot of the brass has dents just below the shoulder. You would think NEW meant NOT MESSED UP!! These should come out when fire formed, correct? I hope so.
 
What? You think all those guys in the shipping business realize we're asking them to ship eggs? Sorry, a bit grumpy this afternoon, but it's probably not the fault of either Midway or Remington. Just a good bump with the forklift, or a drop off the curb, or a toss across to another truck that gets fumbled and dropped.

The last case (5000 rounds) that I had delivered to my door of 22lr ammo, came so broke up, I had to repack about half.

Anyway, look at it as something to keep you busy on some bad winter day/night. Just run them through your resizer die.
 
Yep thats just something else to do when times are slow. I haven't bought new brass before so it was a shock to me. This is not a perfect world we live in. Its a good thing this isn't the way cars look when they get to the dealers.
 
I bought brass in bulk and never had that experience. However, I once bought 1000 bullets for my .243 and found almost 100 of them to be .257 caliber.
 
The guys who work for the shipping compaines are no different than those who work at the airport handling your luggage.
 
If all the brass are dented the same way in the same spot you can't blame the shipper, sounds like a quality control issue at the factory. If the dents aren't too bad I'd run them through the sizer and load them like normal. If the damage is more severe however, I'm sending them back.

Probably more true than anyone here cares to ever find out. And if you don't know how luggage handlers are go to Youtube and punch "United breaks guitars" into their search engine. The song is funny but what it is based on isn't.
