Remington core-lokt bullets, anybody use them?

The gun shop up the road has 140 gr .264 core-lokt bullets for a steal; I know they perform well on deer, but how's the accuracy? Can't find much on that aspect on the all knowing www, and if anyone wants any, they'll be about 14 bucks a box plus flat rate shipping. Thanks in advance.

I have used them (30-06)with good results on deer and decent accuracy. If I didn`t reload my own now, I would snatch some up at that price.

My .308 shoots the 180gr Cor-lokts well under 1" at 100yds. Haven't got a chance to shoot them at longer distances yet, but if they'll shoot that good for you, that'll be plenty accurate for any critter.

i hand load as well, these are just the 140gr projectiles in a box of 100. they sell for $31 plus shipping on grafs.com, and were marked 50% off of 27.99 at this store, so it seems like a screaming deal; just wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with them. like i said if anybody on here wants a box or a few, let me know and i'll pick them up for you, i don't think shipping would be much. thanks gents.

I haven't tried the 140 gr. core-lokt, but have been working on loads for the 120 gr. core-lokt in my 260 Rem.

Based on the limited work-up that I have done, accuracy is decent, but not as good as some other bullets. I've gotten 1 inch groups at 100 yds with my best loads.

Midway sells them for $25.99 + shipping. That'll put you above where you are now. I ran the 140's in my 7mm08 with the factory loads and they shot great. I started reloading to save some money and had some Sierra Game Kings offered to me to try and they shot just as well, maybe a hair better, so I gave up on buying Core-lokts to reload. The Remington's aren't the prettiest bullets I've ever seen, but they do put the hammer on a deer.

Core-lokt bullets have accounted for several thousand big game kills in the US over the years. Its a deer killer for sure.

I load them in my 308, 3006, and 6.5 grendel and I love them.
As stated above they are not as accurate as some of the other premium bullets but it will be hard to find a bullet that causes more damage especially for the price. They do, at least in my experience, cause a large blood shot area so I shoot through the ribs as to not ruin shoulder meat. To give an example if I shoot a deer or hog through both front shoulders with either the 308 or 3006 it turns both shoulders and everything in between to jelly. No good to eat at that point at least for me.

One more thing I have not been able to get factory loads to shoot in my 308 or 3006 accurately only reloads.

if my hand loads shoot as good as core lokts then i have an accurate load.they shoot lights out in my 721.ive never had one fail me and keep a bunch on hand besides my hand loads

Core-Lokts are probably the most used deer bullet out there...The majority of the hunting population I would venture are weekend hunters that don't reload nor spend a large amount of time target shooting. With that said, Core-Lokts are available everywhere from Wal-Mart to your specialty Mom and Pop shops. They are also less expensive and work as advertised.

I used them exclusively before trying other "better" bullets. I honestly can't say the premium bullets work better. About all I can say is that the Core-Lokts look ugly compared to sleek plastic tipped bullets. Accuracy is all one should be interested in though.

I'm ok with ugly, that may go without saying though. i'm going to stop by and pick up 4 or 5 boxes of them to load up in my 6.5x55. Hopefully i will have a chance to test them out on some live targets next week. thanks guys.

Accuracy and corelokts dont go hand in hand IME. I loaded them for 3 good rifles in 3 calibers. Minute of deer was the best I could get out of any of them. They do the job, deer sized target/200 yards max. I think the reason so many factory loads come with them is cost. For most shooters, mod is all they need.

Id have to look but pretty sure i have a bag of 130gr 270 in the bench if somone wants to psy for the ride.
