Remington Model 41 Targetmaster

I was handed down to me by my Uncle, a clean little Remington, Mod 41 Targetmaster, 22LR/L/S rifle. It is a single shot, bolt action with iron sites. It is clean with a nice walnut stock. The metal all has a nice brown patina. BBL is 27" long. Bore is clean and bright and it is a nice shooter. Trigger is slightly heavy but crisp. Likely to get better with a cleanup and some trigger slick. I remember shooting it in Pennsylvania on a farm that belongs to the Kings Ranch of Texas, when I was a kid. That was way back in the 60's. Remington only made this from 1936 thru 1939. Unc got it new when he was about 15. What I am wondering is what these are worth now? I know that they made a bunch of them but how many are left after 75 yrs?

one....came from my dad who passed away about 4yrs ago. he bought it new when he was a kid(born in 1923). the stock was broken when a mule kicked it over in the barn. he nailed it back together with little finish nails. still looks ok and functions fine, just thought it was a bit of cool history behind the rifle my dad used to head shoot rabbits as a youngin. best of my memory says he gave less than $5 for it back then.

I found another one just like it lil over a yr ago at a local flea market for $125 n I bought it happily....just to have 2.

they also made a model that had a peep site. seen one of those for sale local a few yrs ago at $200, but I was flat broke.

I havn't seen them available local otherwise.

$200 max is about all they go for, unless mint. Then only about $325 or so, IMO.

Cool little guns though.

They made a tad over 300K of them.......
