Remington Model Seven Predator info?

I was looking for a camouflage options for a pending Remington 700 SPS Tactical rifle as another thread has convinced me it is a good option for me. I just don't like the all black look although I liek the size, accuracy, etc. of the Tactical. Anyway I only today learned of this Model Seven Predator version that has two things I really like: a 2" longer barrel than the 20" on the SPS Tactical and it also has a full camouflage coating.

What isn't clear is what action the Seven Predator uses. Is it a model 700 action? Is it better/worse/just as good? It also has a "fluted, magnum-contour" barrel.

Anybody have one?

I bought a new one in 243 last weekend and Nikon Coyote scope, problem i have w it has Black floorplate , trigger gaurd, bolt , Looks crappy, Talked to Dynamic Finishes about camoing em they want $60 , Buy a Savage Predator Hunter.

I have one in .223 all my metal is camo so I guess the blued barrel, action, etc is new. I love it, its light and accurate as all heck, mine likes 55gr V-Max. Anything inside 300yds is as good as dead if I do my part.

Wahoowad, I shoot a model 7 predator in 22-250. I like it alot. I couldn't group very well with federal ammo. grouped 1" with rem. 55grain psp's. Stackin with 50 grain rem. accutip v's. The only thing about those is, they destroy pelts. Gonna try some 45 grain jhp's and see how they do. I don't know that I wouldn't give the savage version of the predator a try. It has a 1-12 twist and that should allow you to shoot a 60 grain a little better, but I haven't shot it so I don't know for sure. I'm a remington man, but there aint nuthin wrong with the savage as far as I'm concerned. Hope this helps.
