Remington R-15?

Have they turned into something collectable or scarce or rare? I know where ones at for <$800. Gunbroker has two and they are both almost 2 grand each. I didn't think they were anything that special to have a price tag like that.

They were pretty cool at the time, but 2k buys a lot more cool than that now...

There is one that goes for 1500 and up, and that's the 30 Rem AR. But the common 223 flavor, I wouldn't think so.

There's actually 3 for sale. Two are 223 and the other a Bushmaster IIRC. One of the 223's is around $700 and the other two are like $1995. I don't remember the exact numbers now. A pawn shop I frequent (owner and a sales person are club members and friends) has one one the rack. I stopped in to visit and saw it. I believe it was like $750. I was thinking if they are worth $2000 I was going to buy it and flip it for a nice profit. Its been there quite a while and if it was worth big bucks I think it would have sold long ago.

According to True Gun Value

A REMINGTON R15 rifle is currently worth an average price of $894.98 new and $742.08 used. The 12 month average price is $894.98 new and $722.73 used.

I agree GC and John56, I saw that myself on True Gun Value. I about messed my drawers when I saw the GunBroker prices. Someone would have to want one awfully bad to pay those prices. I thought the one at the pawn shop for $700+ was a little on the high side. It was in pretty decent condition but buying used AR's kinda scares me after years at the club seeing how some are treated.
