Remington V3 Field Sport

Matlock:

Full may well not be the best choke for that big shot. Try a mod or so if its lead.

As a shotgun instructor (NSCA Level III) I know a bit about chokes and loads... PM me if you have questions....

Shot any of those Hornady Hornet loads yet?

Yep, shooting strictly Rem #4 Buck at the moment. I did buy a couple boxes of the Winchester Varmint-X BB, just to see how it patterns.

I didn't have as much time while I was out shooting as I thought I would, so I only patterned the factory full choke. I know I need to do a lot more patterning with different chokes before I'm ready to go out and put it to work in the field.

I haven't had a chance to shoot the .17 Horny quite yet. More to come on that soon.

So far, so good. I have yet to put a coyote down with it, and I've only patterned Rem #4 buck and Fed #4 buck through it, but it's cycled both with ease and I have no complaints. I'll be doing some more patterning work this spring with 2 3/4" shells.
