Remington X-Mark Pro Adjustment

Hey guys, I posted a while back about adjusting my 700's trigger and got a few responses, but I think the advice and the web site I was referred to were concerning an older version of the Remington trigger. I did about an hours worth of searches trying to find pictures of the trigger with maybe a detailed description on adjustment or even just point out which screw is which but it's not out there. The information that is out there is hard to decifer which of the two triggers are being described. I ended up just adjusting the top screw on the front of the trigger counter clockwise until the firing pin wouldn't engage and then ran it back in about a half of turn after I found the sweet spot where it would engage. Sound right? It feels right. If anyone has the ability to post something with some info and some good pictures with description of the screws, I'm sure it would help alot of people. How to adjust Xmark trigger-
1. Remove bbled action from stock.
2. Remove XMark trigger assembly from action.
3. Take Xmark trigger and toss into trash can, one that is deep enough that it can not be retrieved.
4. Replace Xmark trigger with "old" Rem 700 trigger assembly or high quality after market replacement.
5.Put Blue locktite on action screws.
6. Place bbled action back in stock.
7. Insert and Tourque action screws to 65 inch pounds****If using a McMillan stock.





In all fairness, I don't know how to adjust the X-mark trigger as I haven't had my mitt's on one yet. Ignore the above information unless you are completely fed up with it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

same as the old but you cant mess with the sear screw its tied to you safety but your best bet is to follow the instructions above.

Here's a cut away pic of the xtrigger that I ran across.
Maybe someone can use it to point out which screw to adjust.
 
I hope this post doesn't get bumped back too far before someone who actually knows this trigger has a chance to answer.
 
The new X-Mark triggers are very good - better than the old ones in MANY ways.

If you want to throw one away, I'll pay shipping.

To adjust it, use a 1/16th hex wrench, and the weight screw is the lower one in the front of the trigger housing (furthest from the action).

I have adjusted over a dozen of these and it is easy to get them to 24 ounces.

I am with Cat.... if you have a bunch you are throwing out... send one my way too... I have two and LOVE them... they break like glass... the only way they could be better is to take the route savage did and make it more user friendly to adjust.

I don't have any at all, I have been scouring the used racks for actions and haven't bought anything with the new trigger yet.
 
With the firearms muzzle pointing to the right and in the up right position the sear screw is the only screw on the left side (on the back under the safety). The overtravel screw is the top one on the right side which is in a recess about .125" deep. The poundage is the bottom screw on the right side(front) and is in the block that is flush with the front of the trigger. You will probably need to use a little heat to loosen the sear and overtravel screws. Also, if you adjust out too much overtravel you may inhibit your safety from working properly.
 
Thanks for the input. It's been tough getting people to help on this one. Like I said before, there's not alot of info out there on this trigger.
