If I wanted to own a Samn Davage I would buy one.

No Remington 700 fan needs the "master minds" to run to Savage for new ideas.

Just shows how far in the toilet Remington arms is. IMO

Playing to the competition instead of setting the bar for them is like arguing with an idiot, pretty soon you can't tell them apart.

Peace.

I hear ya. The "masterminds" at Rem have investors to answer to rather than hunters. I'm a die hard 700 guy but I'm sick of them putting quality second.

You should of known it was not going to be a "top" shelf new gun, but one that is cheap to make & sell.

I wonder if it will be "savage" threads, for swaps....Id bet not though.
Like the rest of you I am not impressed my remington & their bean counters.
Ill keep my super accurate Savages. I think a remnut is great for bbl canges though.

Let's look at the bright sides - cheap, adjustable trigger, interchangable bbl's the way it looks (dare I even dream that it might interchange with 700 bbl's that guys dump so cheap), free floated, good recoil pad, etc. etc. Oh, and it's plain finished so it's cheap so when I actually take it hunting and I actually scratch it all up, etc., (i.e. use it like a gun) I don't lose much value. Now let's see what the real shortcomings of it are.......

The real short comings are the chamber offerings. Online they chamber 270, 30-06, 308, and 7mm mag. Maybe some .22 cal in the future would ease my frustrations

I am a 700 fan and a quick change barrel system like the Savage doens't bother me at all. I consider it a plus not a minus. Please don't tell me that accuracy suffers with a nut tightened barrel. I have both and there is no difference. It's the nut behind the rifle, not the nut on the barrel.

Remington hasn't, until recently, been known for ugly "cheap" rifles. I would take a 788 over that POS any day. Parts or no parts.

Only a "master mind genius" could use the 788 and 700 for models and come up with that... Good grief.

I don't think I will ever buy a new Remington gun again. The quality has gone down the toilet to me, and Remington has taken over Marlin Firearms and discontiued may of the slower selling Lever guns from there lineup. I will look for older used ones at LGS or gun shows.

Ya, Ruger did the same bone headed thing with the All American. .

They could have at least put it out in 243 and 22-250 . . .
At least the All American can be had in 243.
Oh well , just another reason to stick with the Savage Axis/Edge.
