Replacement Triggers

Is there any other ar triggers that are a quality upgrade around the price point of RRA 2 stage you would recommend? Price range 80-100? Single or two stage no biggie.

Check out the Geissele Triggers.

http://geissele.com/triggers.html

They make some nice AR15 and M16 type two stage triggers. Some are for combat and some are for precision long range shooting competitions.

The guy who owns the company is a Mechanical Engineer and knows his stuff. They use quality materials for the metal parts and precision machining and testing of the parts.

His wife runs another company that sells good triggers for much less than the Geissele Trigger sell for. They are nice triggers and have a much lower price range. Around $65 for some of them. I can't remember the name of the company right now. I saw some videos on how to install the Geissele SSA trigger today on U Tube and the guy Owner gave a talk about his wife's triggers as well as his.

Go to U tube and do a search for Geissele Triggers. You should find some good information about them and how they are made and how to install and used them for different purposes.

I've got the Geissele SSA trigger that was installed on my new Ambush Firearms 5.56 AR15. Marty Daniels owns both DD and Ambush Firearms. Ambush Firearms is the hunting subsidiary of Daniel Defense. They make almost all their parts for their guns using high quality steel and aluminum. They even have a Cold Hammer Forge at their shop along with CAD design computers and CNC milling machines. And they are adding another huge building in Georgia and another new factory in North or South Carolina this years. They are growing and well respected. They chose to use the Geissele triggers in their guns.

The Geissele SSA trigger Super Semi Automatic Trigger retails for about $230. The SSA trigger is a combat type trigger that is a little more forgiving for the guys who are under a lot of stress. Geissele makes a match grade trigger that's used for long range bench rest competitions and then a faster trigger that's use for three station competitions or something like that.

I recently put an SSA-E trigger on my black rifle I built and I absolutely love it, may be a little more you were wanting to spend, but always remember "buy once cry once"

JP makes a adjustable single stage for a little over a hundred from Joe Bob's. You use the stock hammer. Comes with the lighter springs for about 3 to 3 1/2 pounds. This is what it pulled on my rifle at least.

The fact that they are 2 and single stage triggers respectively doesn't allow you to make that comparison. You need to identify what you want it for and go from there IMO. There is not one thing wrong with a Timney trigger, but as long as it and a Geissele SSA-E are relatively in the same price point, the SSA-E gets the nod from me every time.....and has 5 times.

If you are looking for a "good" inexpensive trigger for your AR, send the mil spec trigger to Bill Springfield. FOr the cost and what he turns that trigger into, it is one heck of a deal.

Call Joe Bob's they have them for $85.

I appreciate the responses. I might try an ALG out but kind of wanted something that might lower the trigger pull. Would work well on my carbine that is for plinking. I would really like to get timney's or Gissele's but buying 3 at a time is a little sticker shock. Once again thanks for the input.

No reason just looking at other quality options. My plinking rifle will get a single stage and the others are more precision so will probably get the two staged

Its just a little above your price range, but I just installed a battle tested equipment (BTE) trigger and couldn't be happier. I found them for $150 from elite tactical. It's a drop in single stage and about 3.5lbs that breaks extremely crisp and clean.
Just another option to look at.

We sell a ton of triggers & LPK's:AR15 Triggers

The Timney 667S was our most popular single-stage drop-in 2013. However, the CMC Flat Triggers and Hiperfire 24E triggers have been picking up quite a bit of steam this year. The Hiperfires have been selling incredibly well. I think we're on our 4th shipment since January when we picked them up.

Our most popular 2 Stage trigger is by far the Rock River 2 Stage Trigger but the Geissele SSA-E is our second most popular. The RRA is a good trigger but the Geissele triggers are better, and they should be for the price difference. The other Geissele triggers all sell well, but the SSA-E is our most popular one of their line.

For under $80 the ALG ACT + JP Reduced Power Springs are a good option.

From what I've heard and seen I wouldn't bother with it. Its real expensive and not all its claimed to be, IMO.
