I recently acquired (free) multiple surplus M16A1 kits minus the lower of course and original barrel. However, I did get three barrels, two of which were NOS virgin Colt barrels and one from Green Mountain, I had the original FSB's attached to those barrels.
I used H&R M16A1 lowers from PSA and a XM177E2 (future project).
Finished three build today and test fired, all were 100%. I'm not really into the "retro" stuff but must admit once I got started I like it... I used the M16A1 in Basic Training in 1981. I also have a XM177E2 build in the works and did the Form 1 yesterday.
The end result using the best in the kits:
I like the rack numbers on the stocks, wish the other one wasn't so worn.
