Rhino Calls, White Rhino Closed Reed

Sitting around doing nothing much, so I did what I do and start looking online for things that interest me. Somehow I ended up on the All Predator Calls website digging around and ordered a Rick Robbins Elk Antler Tip open reed distress call. I only have one other RR call so what the hell?

But with a little more digging I stumbled onto a Rhino calls White Rhino Closed Reed for a discounted price of $10. I didn't immediately click buy as I had to make sure it was 'The" Rhino Calls I was thinking of. I remember Uncle Jay as the maker of Rhino Calls but I haven't heard anything about him for quite awhile now. Well, about all I could find out quickly was that Google AI said that the White Rhino was made by Jay Nistetter. For $10, that was good enough for me! Lol... I have none of his calls, so figured I better at least get one while I can.

That said, Is Uncle Jay still active in the call business? About all I could find is that he's still on the Foxpro team as a Pro Staffer. I hope he's well. I've been trying to score a copy of his book forever and the only one I ever see is for a used copy from some online seller for between $200 and $300!
 
The White Rhino was one of the production calls he made later on on his call making career. I’m not a 100% sure of the story behind it though. I lost contact with UJ a while back, but have tried to call an text him. Latest, I heard he’s still around but don’t get out much.

$89 is not bad if your a collector. I think I have 5-6 of them, and I’ll pick up everyone that pops up for $60 or less. 🥴

I’m not a “collector” I don’t think. Just a hunter that has an interest in all facets of this sport. I do have more calls than I need and keep adding more for some reason that defies logic! Lol… I’d gladly pay $60 or less for a copy. $89 plus tax is more than I’m willing to pay. I’ll just keep on keeping an eye out.

Yeah, the call isn’t a collector’s item by any stretch but for $10 it’s not much of a hit. Says it’s CNC’d so At least it isn’t some injection molded, one of one million call.

$89 for the book is lowest I’ve seen in a while.
