Rhino Tuff AR500 Steel Targets

I just purchased a couple 3/8" AR500 steel targets from Rhino Tuff Steel Targets LLC and thought some of you might like a review on them.

I purchased a 6" and a 12" target and used the 6" target first using my Savage 17HMR @ 125 yards and this was the result....

I couldn't feel any real dent in the steel at all, it just took the paint off nicely.

I then used my 6X45 AR shooting 80 grain Bergers @ 175 yards and the first shot hit the bottom left of the right bolt (see dent in it) and made the awesome splatter mark. After I adjusted my scope 2 MOA down and 2 MOA left I got a nice centered hit on the target.........

Note: Both times I shot the 6" target it flipped the target up over the top bracket of my target stand so I decided to use the much heavier 12" target for the next shots which were again with the 6X45 but out @ 225 yards and got this nice 3 shot group............

I then went out to 300 yards and shot 3 more with the 6X45 and here was the results........

All in all I'm really happy with these targets. They make a nice sound when hit and the hits are clearly visible through my 3-9X40 scope and the 12" target handled the 80gr Bergers really nicely with barely any indentation in the target at all. When I got home I lightly sanded and then cleaned the surface of the targets and touched them up with some white spray paint and they look like new and are ready for some more shooting tomorrow. I bought mine off of Ebay and they were shipped right away and I would definitely recommend them.

The 12" target came with bolts/washers, etc that when used make the target tilt slightly towards the back when hanging from the chains and the bullet shrapnel gets deflected pretty much straight down to the ground underneath the target. These are nice targets.
