Richard's Gunstocks ???

Just can't agree with you guys on the Richard's bash. They tell you up front when you order that you will have to wait for the stock. They tell you up front that you will need to do the finish and final inletting.

It was clear to me in looking at the web site and those facts were repeated to me when I ordered.

Soooo... I waited the 8 weeks promised and the stock arrived and was exactly what I expected. I recently sold the gun on Auction Arms and the Buyer had nothing but good things to say about the gun and the stock.

In any case, if they deserve to be put out of business, the market will do just that, but meanwhile there must be a reason for the long wait. Repeat customers maybe??

Longcruise, I'm not saying that your lieing, but they told me 8-11 weeks ( it ended up more like 5 months ) they said the Ruger 10/22 was a press fit ( it wasn't even close ). When I finally got to talk to someone he told me that the wood I had removed caused the reciever to toggle foward causing it to stick below the riser. Anyone with half a brain can see when the reciever of a 10/22 is removed from the stock what keeps it from falling through the bottem of the stock. I had not removed any material from this area at all, so their was no way for the reciever to "toggle" foward. As far as I'm concerened they were blowing smoke up my a$$. They had removed to much material from the bottem of the stock causeing the situation and tried to point the finger at me. When I sent back the stock and called to see why my delivery comf wasn't signed on the priorty mail, he stated "that they only goto town on mondays to get mail at the post office". They are a slop of a company. Talk to Claud at Gatewood stock, his stocks come finished / perfect fit at about $100.00 more in alot less time. He can turn out stock in about 30 minutes or so using the same machines as Richards. His wait is due to the high volume of orders, but still far quicker than Richards. Richards did refund my money but said the stock was fine and were going to sell it on their web site. So now someone else will will get taken on a stock that isn't properly made.
