Does anyone know anything about the Riedl Rifle Co. or the rifles that they produced I have an opportunity to obtain a falling block rifle in 22-250 with a heavy barrel that was made by them I am looking for a value on it. The rifle is in very good like new condition. I have exhausted all of my google foo and have come up short on info and have not found any on the auction sites to get an idea of value any info on the rifle or the company would be valued. I do know that they were in operation from the early 70's to the early 80's and the falling block was their own patented design. The rifle seems to be made well and the action feels solid and tight but smooth. Anyone ever own one or shot one.

I found this information on the Riedl Rifles.

Welcome to the Riedl Rifle web site. I'd like to ask for your assistance. My father and uncle are the creators of the Riedl Rifle. My dad gave each of his children their own Riedl Rifle. Mine was stolen from Nashville, TN on 4/5/02. It was the only Riedl Rifle I had. Please help by notifying me if you see my rifle listed anywhere; the Serial No. is 002L. Also, since I have nothing, I would like to try to purchase a Riedl Rifle. Please write to us at RiedlRifle@yahoo.com
Thanks.

DESCRIPTION
The rifle has a walnut stock and forearm. Has Rack & Pinion on opening lever for the breach block, which is stainless steel (white steel). The rest of the steel is blued. Stamped on the Left Side with "Riedl Rifle Co." The Serial Number is located on bottom of receiver on the Right. Has a mounted rifle scope - Redfield 3 x 9 Widefield.

info on these rifles are very hard to come by I have only a few tidbits of info and it looks like they bring from 5 to 7 hundred in auction I could not even find a decent picture of one online, and no info on how many were made or what they sold for when new I am thinking that unless I come across some good first hand knowledge of these rifles, I will pass on the trade.

Thanks I found that just after posting my last reply those are the best pics available. Might be a good action for a custom build but any parts that break would have to be reproduced on a piece by piece basis.

About 8 months ago I came across a Riedl in .218 Bee. Nice condition too. Place wanted around $600 for it. I too did the internet research on Riedl and came to conclusion $450 to $500 a fair value for rifle. Leastways this is what I recall. I passed on buying it. Several weeks later I'm back in the place and it had been sold.
