Hello All - Just wanted to find out if there was any market for doing camo paint jobs for people on Guns and other hunting gear. I just did my own for the first time. A few people told me they we very good and I could make money doing it. I've got someone that wants me to do there son's paint balling gear. Are there others that do it for a price? and what would be a competetive price?

Thanks!

Post some pics, you do understand that if you are working on complete firearms you will need an FFL or you will need to bew working on a licensed dealers. You can get around that by haveing customers send the parts less reciever to be painted.

Thanks for the links and info. I am working on some pics to post. The guy that does the webbing does nice work. I agree that camo jobs are personal, but I think I can pretty much duplicate what ever someone can show me as an example. I've got to look into the FFL thing. My idea was to go mobile and go to the people (local) and add on a little (or big) gas charge. We'll see.

The way the law is stated. If you do work to a gun and take money for it you are requierd to have an FFL.If the gun stay in you domaine over night you need an FFL. To get the FFl'S it is a paper work pain in the rump.Call the main number in Atlanta Georiga and get them to send you a FFL packet. It is fun to fill out HAHAHAHA.

Good Luck I hope it all works out for you.

Great info. Thanks. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif Aarrggg!!! Learned my first lunk head camo job lesson. Gun solvent removes the paint off my nice new paint job. Pictures will have to wait. Does this Duracoat resist solvents?

When properly cured, and more importantly, properly prepped, Duracote is highly resistant to chemicals. You dang near have to bead blast it to remove it.
