Rifle or midlength gas tube in .308?

The consensus seems to be that 18" is the optimum barrel length for an all around .308 AR, so now the question arises, what length gas system? Rifle or midlength?

If you're thinking 18", I'd go mid-length (which I did). You can always tune down a mid-length to act like a rifle length, but you can't make a rifle length behave like a mid-length.

My barrel had middy gas. Should be here Monday. Adjustable gas block from joe bobs sitting on the bench ready to go
