Alright, had a chance to get out today after a nasty storm blew threw and left about 12" of snow in town. So, here it is... haven't come up with a name yet, although I have a few I've been kicking around.
The run down: It's constructed of 1" wide nylon webbing. The loop where the rifle stock rests has a piece of suede leather sewn in, which grips the stock, to help hold it in place, and is effective on both synthetic and wood stocks. The hardware is all high quality acetal plastic.
I designed this to be ambidextrous and fully adjustable for all sizes of shooters out there. It is made to be used with shooting sticks, or bipod, to allow for hands free support of your rifle/shotgun, while leaving it in position to shoot with the least movement possible.
Simply clip the swivel clip to your central belt loop in the rear, and sling the strap over your shooting shoulder. Once you're in position to start calling, you can easily reach behind you and pull or loosen the free end, thereby raising or lowering the "loop" end, to get the stock into the correct position. This adjustment allows for different seating positions and shooting styles. You can therefore get the stock positioned in the "sweet spot" of your shoulder and ideal cheek-weld. The gun stays put! Just messing around with it in my living room, I was able to turn my torso both ways and lean forward and backwards without it coming free... And all the while with no hands on the gun or sticks!
So, who's interested?! I bought a ton of materials to make a batch of these. I could see these being very useful, and look forward to getting out to use one myself!
