Rock River Arms "Coyote" Rifle

My first AR I built from a stripped lower and then got a kit from M&A parts. SS 20" bull barrel with a 4x14 scope, Ace Skeleton butt stock and RRA Match trigger. It was a kick putting it together and it sure shoots!!! Only problem is it weighs a ton.

About six months after I built it, I found a RRA Coyote Rifle (16") and couldn't stand the thought of it sitting in that gunshop another day. I took it home and put a Millett DMS 1x4 on it and love it. The butt stock is great and the trigger is a must! It weighs a lot less that the bull barreled AR.

If I could only have one of them, it would be the RRA. That said, I just picked up two new lowers and will put them together with medium weight 16 to 20" uppers if I can find them.

Craig: I purchased the RRA Coyote about a month ago, it is the 20". So far I am pleased with it. I am experimenting to see what load, both bullet and powder, it shots best. It is well made and in the configuration solid as a rock. I put a Nikon 4.5 X 14 X 50 on it. Not too many rounds yet, still lookin' for the perfect load.

Mark,
Which scope mount did you use? I see the new Hi-Rise scope mount offered by RRA, but wasn't sure what other options I had for mounting a scope. I prefer keeping my cheek as close to the stock as possible, while maintaining a clear full picture through the scope.

Thanks

Craig

hey man i all i can say is get the rra. i have built them and done all that stuff. i have 13 AR's in all. 3 of them being the "coyote" two are the full size and the other is the carbine i have swavorskis on one full size and on the carbine and a red dot on the other. they all shoot the hornady 55gr vmax. the two with scopes shoot sub .5 moa at 100 yd and the red dot is still shooting a 1 moa.
