Hey guys. I’m looking to put an adjustable block on my 308. Looking for anyone who’s got the lar-8 hp and has used one. I can’t find anywhere that says I can use a certain one. I saw one post that said Wilson combat makes one that will clear the barrel nut and line up with the gas key properly. Anyone tried?

You might try calling RRA and ask for tech support.

Maybe they can answer your question if they are not restricted by liability issues.

They said they aren’t away of anything that’s compatable. It was on a chat I seen a guy that works for RRA day if anyone found one that would work to let him know so he could pass it on. That was the Wilson

I guess I wasn't aware that theirs was different than any other gb. It might be easier to make the one that came on it adjustable by drilling/tapping for a set screw. I go through the side, intercepting the gas port hole with a #8 set screw.

I’ve never really thougt about doing that. Can you give a bit more detail how you go about it? I’ve got a spare one I could practice on

It's nice to have 2 taps, a regular one and a bottoming one, but I just carefully line up where I want to drill by measuring back to the center of the gas port hole on the inside of the block and transfer that to the outside. Some have more room vertically than others below the gas tube, but I usually end up going through the very bottom of the gas tube, so I make sure to have it installed first. .750 blocks are usually easier than a bull barrel block as there isn't much room there. I will look for some pics.

I have the lar 8 predator with .750 barrel and I put the jp adjustable on mine and it fits just fine, I used the factory gas tube with mine. I have also used the factory rra gas blocks on other builds and had no problems. I didn't ever think that the gas blocks from rra would be different from mil spec.

I just read a lot and couldn’t find any definitive yes that the adjustable I want will
Work. All I did read is that it wouldn’t line up over the barrel nut and gas key proper. I ordered a adjustable gas key from rubber city armory to give a go with
