i was thinking of buying this upper from kp firearms. anyone have any experience with this upper. i was thinking of putting a pull out stock on this. i was wondering how heavy a 20 inch barrel on a ar is. i have a 6x45 with a 18 inch barrel it is ok as far as weight goes. may be better to go with a 18 inch barrel instead for this 223 build.

I love my 18" midlength barrels. If I was gonna any longer I'd go for a full 24" for velocity reason only. Otherwise its 16-18" for me...

I have the PP rifle as well. I love it. The 20" barrel is not heavy at all. It is not a thin barrel but it is not a true bull barrel either. It is tappered nicely and the weight balances well and is not to heavy. I think with the Ace stock I have on my lower, the gun with the upper weighs about 8 lbs or just a hair over. Not bad at all if you ask me. I carry it a lot and it shoots GREAT! It shoots several factory loads good and really excels with handloads. I have not really found any load it wont shoot terrible. Most of them are under MOA at 100 and several a whole lot less than that.

I liked my 20" PP. I think its better for longer distance shooting and still very easy to carry on long hikes especially with a collapsing stock. It is not that much heavier than a 18" & more accurate IMO.
