Rock River Predator Pursuit 20" guys

i had forgot how well the 53gr v-maxs shot from my gun. I found 4 that i had loaded a while back and shot them two weeks ago. they were the last 4 I had left from testing them. Shot a dime size group at 100. Just went today and picked up 2 more boxes and I am going to load up a bunch and start getting it dialed in and through a chronograph

Here is a shot from the ladder test I did working up my best load for my 20" Pred Pursuit. 300 yds 5 sequential shots varying in 0.1 grain increments. 1.5" spread and better aligned vertically. Thes 5 were 27.0 to 27.4 grains of Varget with 53 gr. Vmax bullet. Settled on my loading at 27.2 grains COAL 2.25 chronos at 3050 and the factory Superformance runs at 3250.
Love this load!

"hodgdon lists 27 grains of varget as max and it is compressed. did you see any pressure signs from shooting that load at 27.2 grains?"

I got my Max data here: showing 27.5 as max. http://accurateshooter.net/Downloads/sierra223ar.pdf
I also made note in my logs that hogdon data matched, though I see now it does not on their site. The Hogdon basic reloader manual 2003 lists 27.5 as the max load for 55 gr. SPR SP. I saw no signs of pressure issues, cases and primers looked fine, ejection and feed were good. I started the ladder at 25 grains and loaded 25 shots in 0.1 grains to top out at 27.4 I checked cases through the ladder. The load is compressed. Used LC brass and Federal 205 primers.

I must admit to never really trying to milk the most accuracy out of mine. I wanted a good "hunting accurate" load for deer/yotes. I use:

70 gr TSX
LC 5.56 brass
Fed 205 M
24 gr. TAC and/or Varget
Seated LONG as mag allows

I get approx. 3/4 MOA accuracy.

For plinking/varmints, I just load up some Remmy 55 gr. SP over 25 gr. 335, Benchmark, or Varget. But may just switch to TAC eventually..........

I have the same gun in a 16" barrel, I shoot 50gr NoslerVBT at around 2650 with H322, shot some group under 1/2" at the 140yrds.

I shot PD this past weekend in AZ, 250 plus no problem.

my 20" pp shoots 25gr of benchmark pushing a 55gr nbt with wsr primer very well. A nickel covers 9 out of 10 at 100yds. the flyer was half a hole diameter from being covered.
