Anyone willing to give a report on these rifles? I am looking to get into the AR platform and am interested. Likes and dislikes? How is the carry weight? Any info would be appreciated.

I just got mine about 2 weeks ago. I like the feel and balance. I also have a RRA CAR. The trigger pull is great. At this point I have only had the pursuit rifle at the range, but I have no complaints about it. I know I'm going to like this rifle. I would think that you will like yours as well. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Do it!!! Feed the need /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I like mine a lot, as well. It's a little on the heavy side but it doesn't bother me. Mine, with a Nikon 3-12x42 monarch weighs in at just under 10 lbs. It's my first AR and I bought it just over a month ago. I got it and the scope from Adam McLaughlin aka Txyote. He gave me a fair deal and he was good to work with. All in all, I would purchase another one if I was to do it over again. It feels much more solid than some other ARs that I've handled and the finish on it is second to none. Good luck and let us know what you end up doing. Also, it does have a 1 in 8 twist barrel so you'll be best off shooting heavier grain bullets. I've been shooting the 68gr. BTHP Black Hills ammo but my itchy trigger finger is about to finalize the payment on a Lee reloader setup.

I have one as well, I haven't gotten much range time with it yet. It has printed a few 1.25" to .75" groups using 55gr Ultramax SPs. I have all the reloading components sitting on my bench for a rainy day. I will be working up a load using 55gr Hornady V-Maxs.

I actually have a TON of different bullets I am going to be trying out, and once I get some time to do some loading and shooting I'll be posting up a full report with pictures of all the different combinations I come up with. I'm going to try 40gr BTs, 50gr BTs, 50gr HPs, 52gr HPs, 55gr V-Maxs, 60gr Nosler Partitions, 60gr VMaxs. And I'm sure I'll come up with a few more, been a while since I've checked my supply of .223 components.

I bought the 18" upper last year and put it on a bushmaster lower. I found it to be super accurate, heavy and unbalanced so I send the upper to ADCO firearms in Ohio and they recontoured the barrel and took almost 2 pounds off of it. These barrels are about an inch in diameter of heavy stainless steel. It is now much better balanced and I absolutely love it. Taking the barrel down to .73" did not changed the accuracy at all. It still shoots great and prefers the heavier bullets--like the 68 grain Match HP by Black Hills. I get 5 shot .5" groups with that factory load. Over all it is a great upper--it just turned out to be perfect once I took that heavy barrel down some--it costs $150 for the recontouring. The turnaround time from shipping out to getting it back was 3 weeks. If you have the money i would recommend it to all RRA Pred pursuit owners.

I had one for about 18 months now and it shoots great. I been using 55 grain sp will shoot about an inch and half at 200 yards. It would probably do better but that is all I can get out of it with me behind the trigger.

I am not an AR fan as a rule. Always been a bolt gun guy and probably always will be. About a month ago my shooting buddy bought a RR pred., not being one to be out done, decided that I needed one. Thought about the Oly's, thought about the Rem R-15, then stopped at a little shop on my way to Tulsa, and low and behold was a RR Pred. with a 20 in. barrel. Brought it home, but a Nikon on it, took it to the range with a box of 55 grain Hornady's, and started shooting little bitty groups right out of the box. Since then I've added a Mag-pul stock and a riser to raise the scope a bit. Other than that, I just shoot and enjoy the looks on people's faces when they say AR's aren't supposed to shoot like that. Abit heavier since the Mag-pul was added but I usually carry a bull barrel rifle, so its not that big of a deal. Do I like it, NAH! You betcha I like it!!!

Aerallic- You must be a bit mistaken about the Pursuit, It has a medium weight barrel. Mine measures .740 at the muzzel. The coyote has a full bull if I'm not mistaken.

I dont think the coyote model is a true bull barrel either. I am not real sure what it measures, but i would about bet it is around the same as the pursuit rifle.

Skeet- Your partial right. The coyote has the same barrel with a flash hider and it is black or moly, not to sure about that. Its the Varmint that has the bull barrel. Well, I said I could be mistaken. Even tho, I can't see the need to re-contour the Pred. Pursuit barrel, it isn't that heavy.

Love the way mine shoots. Not to crazy about the two stage trigger though, anyone know if they can be adjusted easily?

After reading several post on here about how everybody loved there rra rifles I ordered one in feb. It finally got here around the middle of may. I been playing around with some loads every since I got it and I shot these groups with it last week. Needless to say I am very pleased. The load I have settled on is 24 grains of varget behind a 60g v-max. Although it shoots everything I feed it well. The target on the left is 10 shots with this load. The target on the right is 10 shots with 23.5 grains of benchmark. The little target I cut out is one a friend of mine shot with it last week. It was 5 shots using 24g of varget and measured .340. So far its the most accurate rifle I own.

I was considering buying a RRA Predator Pursuit upper for my RRA lower. When it came time to order the upper I discovered that I couldn't get it with a 16 inch barrel. so I decided to order my upper with a mid length 16 inch stainless barrel. This is the same barrel used in the Predator Pursuit but has a flash suppressor. It's the stainless match barrel, which is a lighter contour than the varmint barrel. When I looked at it on the RRA web site it looked like the barrel was .750 in diameter.
When I recieved the upper I found that it was quite a bit heavier than I thought it would be because although it was .750 inch in front of the gas block, it was a whopping .950 under the handguard.
The upper shoots great, blows up clay pidgeons at 300 yards with no problem, but makes the rifle just too heavy to use as a dedicated coyote rifle.
I'm currently checking with Dtech to see if he can flut the barrel both ahead of the gas block, and under the hand guard. I'm sure that would lighten the rifle enough to make it work for me.
If Dtech can't help I'll be contacting Adco.

pyscodog--I am sure you are correct on the barrel--I incorrectly assumed that the barrels were the same diameter. Whatever the case, I now have a super rifle that is well balanced--too bad it has taken me almost $1500 between new trigger and all the other amenities that a guy just has to have!

Bushnell 4200 1.25x4 illuminated red dot. It rocks for a calling rifle set up, and for those running yotes. The coyote in the picture was running out to the middle of the section. He stopped to take a look and thats all she took! One shot in the face! Lee
