Ruger #1 Varmint in 25/06- Anyone with a preferred load?

I am working with a Ruger #1 Varmint in 25/06. I am getting ready to start reloading for it and have not decided on my bullet choice yet. I will probably be using Varget or IMR 4350 for powder. I am still undecided for Bullet choice, as I am not absolutely sure what I am going to use the rifle for. It will be used for Deer or Coyote and maybe both. If I was just using for Deer I would probably go with the 115 NBT or 100 gr Barnes Tripple Shock.

I would like to hear if anyone else has a Ruger #1 Varmint in 25/06 and what their rifle likes.

Thanks for your input!

P.S. I have already changed the trigger out with a Kepplinger Single set. The hammer has been changed out with a Moulds Speed Hammer. I have also installed the Hicks Accurizer. It should be ready to shoot know!

My friend Dave's Ruger shot 1/2 inch group with Sierra 90grHPBT with 53grs 4350 fed mag primer. It was our groundhog load for Ohio.

I only shoot the 115 gn to 120 gn Bullets in my 25-06.
Powders that shoot are, RL-22, H-4831SC and 7828.
3 shots into 1/2" groups at 100 yards, using a Weaver V-16 set at 16x. I sure do love the Speer and Sierra 120's.

Gotta try some of those Bergers. Based on the awesome accuracy of their 22 caliber bullets, the 115's in 25 cal should shoot.
Thanks for the reminder!!

Most cartridges based on the '06 cartridge like slower powders like H-4831sc.

The advantage of the 25-06 is that you can throw a slug heavier than 100gr, otherwise you would have bought a 243/6mm. This gives you better ballistics and better wind resistance, and more power at longer distances.

I've used a lot of different slugs over the years but lately use both the 115gr Nosler BT with 48.5gr of IMR-4350 and the 75gr V-max with H-4831.

Bigdog2- actually I do have a 243 in a 1885 Win Low wall, love it also. The only 100 gr. bullet I am looking at now are the Barnes Tripple Shock. I have been hearing some really good results with them.

The load I have used in the past with other 25/06's is the 115 gr NBT except for a Ruger M77 MKII Varmint which would not stabilize anything over 100 grains.

Thanks for all the input, I will try to post once I start shooting and let you know how it does.
