Ruger 10-22 hammer forged laminate?

Was in the local shop today and noticed a 10-22 on the shelf that I liked.
It's a 10-22 with the heavy hammer forged swirl looking barrel with a laminate birch stock.

They are asking 389, but I can get them lower. I don't see a whole lot of info about this particular 10-22? Anyone know much about it?

Its there target model 10/22. Has a lightened trigger pull and a polished bolt. Shoot better than the regular 10/22's. The hammer forged barrels are pretty cool looking.

Gary, I think If a nice slicked up 10-22 is what you want, you should buy a basic carbine for as cheap as possible (either new, or used, pawn shop maybe?) and get aftermarket parts and put one together. You might come in a tad more price wise, but i think you will like the result better.

JMHO ofcourse

I also really liked the looks of the 10/22T. But after handing it I thought it was a bit front heavy.

I'm with Bigsky, buy a carbine as cheap as you can and build what you want. Thats what I did and I'm happy with the results.

I have built tons of 10/22's and can post pics if you want to see what they look like. Buy used and never look back. I have had as little as 200 in a custom 10/22 stainless using used parts and selling my oem parts.

Thanks for the feedback. Im not exactly in the market for one , just thought it was good looking rifle. I'll let it slide.

I've had two of them, one blue and one stainless. They are good looking rifles, pretty heavy though. They aren't anything special in the shooting department. Nor are their triggers special in any way either. They'll usually shoot around 1/2" @ 50 yards with ammo they like and if you manage the trigger well.

I didn't think the trigger was too great either. The weight was fine 7.5# unscoped. It was just gonna be a range gun anyway.

But, my cz will do 1/2 at 50 so I don't need it lol

Gary, I've had two of those, because my first one was stolen. In my quest over the years for the most accurate squirrel rifle, those to 10/22T's were two of the most accurate.

They were more accurate than my 541T, 880SQ, Kimber 82, Mossberg 144T,Ruger 77/22 and even an Anschutz 1712(although not by much)

My CZ that I have now, is the only thing that has shot better than those two 10/22's, But I've done quite abit of stuff to this CZ to get it to this point.

I don't think you would be dissapointed with one of these, except for maybe the trigger.

The one thing about them both was, that you had to put the first one in the dirt, before starting your group. Because the one you chambered by hand would always make a flyer.

I'm
Not much into building a 10-22, really no use for one. I'd rather buy a stock rifle that shoots good..in this case.

I doubt they are going anywhere anytime soon and I replace the trigger on 90% of my guns anyway so the trigger is no biggie.

I've got a scope I might trade them for it

Thanks for the report.

The owner wanted my cz22mag in trade and I considered it but once again, the gun shot so great at the range today..I just couldn't do it.
