I'm in a 10/22 kinda mood. Would love to see some pics as well as some opinions on what aftermarket 10/22 products you guys like. Barrels, stocks, triggers, firing pins, hammers, the whole deal. Also what ammo you prefer. The more details the better.......

My 10/22s(?)::

10/22, Butler Creek Ultra-lite stock, Carbon Fiber Magnum Research barrel. Weight 5.5#

Very cool. Thanks for sharing, OT.

Cool thing about 10/22s and the like, is you get to see so many very different variations......

Oh...im a big 10/22 guy...Archangel target stock is one of my favorites, very light, with a butler creek sleeved barrel, tool steel extractor ,,home brewed trigger work.

i also Like the fajen and boyds stocks,,for targets,,also a reasonably powered AO scope.

Barrels,,Gun Parts (if you can find one)green mountain and the butler creek(despite reviews)shoot incredibly well.

I shoot my 10/22's probably 5 to 1 against all my other rifles,,,use em for testing new scopes,a 10/22 mule is a handy thing.

Not a big pic poster,,wish i was [beeep].

i would love to find an old single shot 22 and rebarrel and make a long range paper gun out of it. i have a stainless 10/22 sitting in the shop that i ahve been saying for two years i am going to make a shooter out of but it is still siting there collecting dust maybe coyotex will throw some of his left over parts my way.

I don't think there were ever any stainless 10/22s. Some SS barrels maybe but all actions were aluminum.

I do know how to make them accurate and it is not by buying aftermarket barrels, although they are better than factory.

Ken,

I've been eye balling a Volquartsen standard .22lr locally, but just been drooling over it.

Only 10/22 version I have is a Magnum research .22mag.

This had a Swaro 4-12*50 av for most of its life, but now wears a little 1-4 Leupy with HD ret.

I had Eddie cerakote my receiver and knob and I had a local friend open the standard Weaver rails to picatinny.

This one has an Adams and Bennett barrel, Hogue stock, Power Custom titanium extractor, Volquartsen Target hammer and sear, a Ranch extended mag release, EGW scope base and for right now my Millet DMS-1 scope, although the jury is still out on that. I may go back to a 3-9x.

Here's the one 10/22 I have left:
DSCN0233.jpg

And here's what it capable of:
DSCN0230.jpg

That's 4 shots in one hole with a called flier to the right using CCI MiniMags.

Note: I have 2 stocks for this gun, the one pictured and a laminated Ruger stock that I bedded. If you look at the pics you will see 2 groups. The lower group is with the bedded laminated stock the top with pictured Ruger birch DSP. Groups with the laminated barrel are much lower and not nearly as good. A great example that not all accuracy is in the barrel.

Mod's include a GM 16.5" fluted sporter barrel, VQ target hammer, VQ bolt buffer and over travel screw in trigger guard.

I have an old one with just a cheapo 2-7 Tasco on it.Still shoots and functions great after thousands of shots. If anything the only other change I would make is to add swivel studs for a sling.

This one is a 1976 that I re-cut the barrel channel on, Green Mtn. 20" fluted barrel, did my own trigger and hammer job, polished the bolt, drilled and tapped for a trigger stop, bedded the works in Devcon and put a Leupold VXII AO scope on it. Shoots very nicely ....never shot many groups with it but its deadly on prairie dogs to 75 yds. or more.
