Ruger American feeding issue. AGAIN

Possibly. There isn't enough recessed area in the stock for the
mag latch to fully extend, making for an unreliable hold. There
is a dremel tool in which the end is knurled and the same
diameter as the shaft. You could use it to make a deeper
recess in the stock, but great care is needed to keep it from
grabbing and ruining the "lip" that is already in the stock. If
you try it and ruin the stock, just get a replacement for that
flimsy, tupperware POS from Boyd's.

I got one in a 243 about 6 years ago. I never had any trouble at all with it. Then i decided to build off of it few years later. About two years ago i got it finished. I re-did everything, now the only thing that is factory is the receiver and the barrel nut which i am going to replace soon. It now has a 243ai Pac-nor barrel that i love! But with ff rounds it wont feed well with the factory mag. So i am going to put a CBI dbm in it. I shouldnt have those problems anymore. Even if you are using a factory stock (i am not) you can still use the CBI. So if i was you that is what i would convert to. Hope this helps. Good luck!!!

When I sent my 22-250 in to Ruger they fixed the problem with the clips and I can feed the rounds slowly now. They did a good job on testing the clips and service was quicker than I thought it would be. Shame on Ruger for not getting it right when this rifle came out of production. Rudy
